How would you describe yourself in 10 words or less?
Brazilian, hard worker, giving, chocoholic, fitness obsessed and down-to-earth.
Tell us about the brand that you are hoping to grow.
We are a family owned business. We hand-make Brazilian gourmet chocolate. My mom and I worked together from the beginning and we love sharing our passion for chocolate and making people happy.
What inspired you to start?
When my husband and I got married we made our truffles for the first time as party favors. By the end of the wedding we had everyone asking us where did we buy the truffles. Everyone loved it! From that moment on, a lot of people would ask me to make for their wedding, parties, events. At that point we knew we had something special in our hands!
If you have a mission, goal, or vision for your brand, what would it be?
To have a sustainable business where we can support our family and be able to generously give back. If we can also fulfill everyone’s cravings for chocolate along the way, then that’s a plus!
Who is your target audience?
Everyone really! Who says no to chocolate?
What are some of the biggest challenges that you’ve experienced so far with your product?
One of the biggest challenges for me has been self-doubt. It surprises me everyday when people try my truffles and they go bananas for it. I know I have a good product (I eat it often hahaha) and I know people love it, but I just need to believe that I am really capable of creating amazing things.
Your biggest successes?
One big success for us, I would say, was going from making chocolates in my kitchen to having our own industrial kitchen. Another has been to see the feedback from chocolate/food industry experts and how amazed they are of what we create on a daily basis. When they ask where we studied to create something like that, I explain that we have no formal training. That is probably one of our biggest successes as well as my biggest reason for self-doubts.
What do you hope to learn and who do you hope to meet through Braid?
I hope to learn how to be more confident in myself and what I can create. Braid allows me to meet great women, be inspired by them and learn how to grow what we love to do, making chocolate!
